Typically, 55-gallon steel drum storage is reserved for gasoline, kerosene, diesel fuel, and other toxic fuels. Because of the highly combustible nature of these substances, steel drum storage is often the medium of choice, as it can seal in fumes and prevent leaks better than plastic. The 55-gallon varieties are ideal because they can hold the largest amount of contents among smaller-capacity drum storage options.

Made by Skolnik, the steel 55-gallon drums we offer at ValuMotion Supply are thoroughly coated with a rust inhibitor. These drums come in open-head and closed-head versions. The open-head steel 55-gallon drums offer storage with an EPDM rubber gasket, bolt-ring closure, or a lever-lock closure.
Closed-Head 55-Gallon Drum Storage and Cleaner
Close-head drums have dual plugs on the top head, including a two-inch and a 3/4-inch plug. They also have a lever-lock closure that is operated by simply opening the lever, sliding the ring on, and pulling the handle to secure the lid tightly. If you want, you can also add optional Skolinik epoxy phenolic coating to enhance compatibility with contents and to increase rust protection.
We even sell 55-gallon drum cleaner made by Simple Green. This cleaner/degreaser is non-abrasive, and will rinse away the residue left in your drum storage after use. While UN-approved hazardous materials are typically fine to store in these drums, you can contact our certified product specialists at our toll-free number if you want to verify any substance of which you are unsure.
